New rTMS Robot Lab @IMBIT

Posted on September 9, 2021

Our new lab at the Intelligent Machine-Brain Interfacing Technology (IMBIT; Georges-Köhler-Allee 201) is up and running. We are going to investigate the neuronal mechanisms and the plasticity inducing effects of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) together with our collaborators in neurosurgery (Jürgen Beck), optophysiology (Ilka Diester), bioelectronic microtechnology (Maria Asplund), neurorobotics (Joschka Boedecker), and neuromedical AI (Tonio Ball). We will deliver rTMS using a real-time neuronavigation and a robotic-arm. This will ensure accurate anatomical targeting and reduce operator bias. Exciting times @IMBIT @VlachosLab!
