Visiting Researcher: Prof. Matthias Mittner (University of Tromsø & NTNU Trondheim)
We are pleased to welcome Prof. Matthias Mittner as a visiting researcher at IMBIT from April 22 to July 10, 2025.
Matthias holds professorships in Cognitive Neuroscience at both the Institute of Psychology, University of Tromsø – The Arctic University of Norway, and the Department of Psychology, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Trondheim.
His research in cognitive neuroscience explores topics such as mind wandering, non-invasive brain stimulation, decision making, pupillometry, and selective attention. He is also highly engaged in advancing methodological approaches in cognitive neuroscience, with a strong focus on computational modeling, machine learning, and Bayesian statistics.
During his stay in Freiburg, Matthias will be working with Zsolt Turi from Vlachos’ lab and David Schultheiss from Joschka Bödecker’s lab at IMBIT, focusing on transcranial magnetic stimulation-based causal brain mapping.
We look forward to welcoming Matthias to our facility and wish him a pleasant and productive stay at our institute.
